From 1 April 2027, tenants can ask their landlord for information under STAIRs. Providers must also publish a policy explaining how they decide whether it's reasonable to withhold information. This sample covers both, for a made-up housing association.
What it covers
Publishing information in the seven classes
What counts as a valid request, and helping tenants make one
The 30 calendar day limit, and when more time is allowed
When a request may be refused
How the landlord decides whether to withhold information
Reviews, the Housing Ombudsman, and records
